Welcome to the Interdivisional Group of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis of the Italian Chemical Society. 

It was October 9, 1989 when, on the occasion of the Congress of the Italian Chemical Society, a large group of colleagues proposed the establishment within the SCI of the Interdivisional Group of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis (GICAT). During the founding meeting, the Group's regulations were approved and the program of activities was developed. An essential element of this program was the hope that a close collaboration with AICAT could represent an ever greater growth of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis. At the same meeting, the first Board of Directors of the Group was formed, which was composed as follows: Ferro Riccardo Coordinator, Antonelli M. Letizia, Cardillo Paolo, Delfino Stefano, De Lisi Rosario, Flor Giorgio Designated by the Physical Chemistry Division, Fubini Bice Designated by the Inorganic Chemistry Division, Nebuloni Marino Designated by the Industrial Chemistry Division, Pulidori Ferdinando Designated by the Analytical Chemistry Division. The hope was immediately collected by AICAT so much so that already at the first meeting after the constitution, on December 7, 1989, the Board of Directors of GICAT met jointly with AICAT. Since then, the collaboration between the two structures has continued in a symbiotic manner with a single purpose, the diffusion of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis.
