BEIJING, May 5th 2025 - On May 9, SCI President Gianluca Farinola met with Wan Lijun, President of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
The meeting was also attended by Maurizio Quinto, member of the SCI International Relations Committee, and Shuai Zhigang, Vice President of the Chinese Chemical Society. It represented a continuation of the collaboration initiated with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two chemical societies in 2024.
Discussions focused on advancing the implementation of the agreement, particularly on mechanisms for joint academic awards, international mobility opportunities for early-career researchers, and the organization of scientific exchange activities between the two communities.
“This meeting reaffirms the value of scientific cooperation as a driver of shared progress. Chemistry is a universal language, and today more than ever, it is our responsibility to build bridges—between laboratories and institutions, and between different worldviews united by research,” stated President Farinola at the end of the meeting.
