Established in 2017 by the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh) and the Italian Chemical Society (SCI), with the support of the Primo Levi family and the Primo Levi International Study Center, the Primo Levi International Award honors the memory of Primo Levi -- chemist, writer, and survivor of Auschwitz.
The biennial award is presented to distinguished chemists whose work has significantly contributed to humanity, promoted human rights, and fostered dialogue between chemistry and society.
Previous recipients include Roald Hoffmann (2017), Vincenzo Balzani (2021), and Henning Hopf (2023).
The call for nominations for the 2025 edition is now open.
